Sore Ankles - any thoughts?

Hi all,
I've been running for about 18 months now and since the beginning my ankles have always felt a bit raw after running. I'm up to running between 25-35 km a week now, and this problem is still persisting. I can push through it when running, but an hour after running, sometimes I can't walk very well for a few seconds until i get into a pace.
It doesn't matter if I run on grass or concrete, and I don't heel strike ( I can tell because the soul on my shoe is only worn on the front )
Anyone have any ideas/suggestions on what this issue is, or any exercise I can do to strengthen my ankles?

Do your shoes have adequate cushion ?0

I have a couple pairs of shoes, but I mostly use Adidas Supernova Glides, so yes i think the cushioning is good on them0
