My husband received this diagnosis from his doctor. My doctor told me that I should eat like a diabetic to keep myself from becoming one. Anyone have advice in this area? Maybe there is a thread here already along these lines. Would love the community support.

Did your doctor not make recommendations or refer you to a dietician?

Here's a link that I hope is helpful

Hi Mom2Scott, I've been diabetic for a few years now and I've found that the medical recommendations for diabetes are not good. I would suggest looking into the low-carb lifestyle. Or, depending on how aggressive you want to be, even the IF community. Google "Jason Fung." Feel free to send me a PM/friend request. I'm happy to be a support any way I can. Diabetes sucks and I would applaud your husband doing everything he can to reverse his current diagnosis. I certainly wish I had.

Losing 5% to 10% of your body weight
and building up to 150 minutes of exercise a week may help you to slow or
stop the progress of type 2 diabetes.

    Losing weight will help tremendously.
