Just turned 47

Hi my name is margaret and I am new. I just turned 47 and am determined to get rid of the extra weight I have gained in the last 17 years. I tried weight watchers many times only to lose mostly money. I like the fact this is free and that it seems to have a huge support group.

Hi Margaret, I turned 47 in Feb. It's been more challenging to lose weight now than it ever was for me in the past, but MFP has been a great resource for doing so! I reached my original goal last week (Yay!), but now I see I have a bit more to go =)

    Feel free to add me,
    Bren

Hi, Margaret. I'm 50. I've done MFP for 2/3 years now on and off. It's a wonderful community with tons of great people in the same shape as us lol. It is definitely harder to lose the weight at this age! Takes lots more effort!! (dang it) Feel free to add me :)
  • Hi Margaret,

I just turned 50 in March. MFP is like anything else, it works if you work it. I lost 33 pounds between May and October then fell off the wagon and gained it all back between October and May. I am back for round two, and it's working....again. I also have done Weight Watchers in the past and I don't miss paying that money! Feel free to add me!

I just turned 47 in March. Please feel free to add me if you like. I've found that it is much harder for me to lose weight now than when I was in my 20s and 30s but it is definitely doable. In the past two years, I've lost 63 pounds.

Hi Margaret, I just turned 54 and yes it does take more to lose ( especially after menopause). I have been using this site for just over 75 days though and have dropped 20 pounds without feeling hungry. At weight watchers I always felt hungry... but lost faster ( and gained it back faster. I found that at weight watchers if you couldn't make the meeting ( only once per week in my town) that it felt like you could cheat. I find this sight better as I feel compelled daily to log my food and to continue my journey. The fat that it is free is AWESOME! Even DH has lost 12 lbs!

Hi Margaret (and everyone else)! I'm Diane - turning 46 the end of Aug. I keep yo-yo-ing...but I keep telling myself that THIS TIME IS DIFFERENT!!! Working on a lifestyle change - not another diet. Feel free to add me! And good luck!

Hi Margaret, I'm turning 43, I've yo-yo'd most of my adult life, much harder as I get older. MFP is great, it keeps me honest:smile:
