Hi Team,
Just a quick question regarding the weighing of food items before logging them in MFP. Should I weight my meat before or after cooking? Same with anything that needs cooking, should I weigh before or after? I have noticed that the weight of the item can differ quite a bit after cooking.
Best Regards
Kyle

Before whenever possible but if you weigh after then be sure to use an entry that specifies cooked.0

weigh raw/uncooked if at all possible - food labels on boxes/bags is for unprepared unless marked otherwise
eating 50g of uncooked pasta, vs 50g of cooked (probably 25g uncooked) is a significant nutritional difference0 -
weigh all your food uncooked.....don't over think it. Measure/Weigh cook it eat it and keep making progress.1

I cannot weigh raw meat. I do not like handling raw meat. To each their own. It has not hampered my weight loss so I am okay.1
