Any diabetics out there?

Options
I don't know many diabetics and would like support from people dealing with the problems I encounter. I was diagnosed wtih T2D 17 years ago but am treated as T1D. I am in the healthcare profession and know my way around this disease. Any good suggestions as far as meals or snacks or even at home remedies to keep sugars from spiking would be much appreciated!

Yes, there are quite a few of us here! There are also a couple of relative groups. Hopefully, someone will post links to those for you.

I'm sure you'll get more responses as the day unfolds! :)

Hi. I am a Type II diabetic. I've been using MyFitnessPal fo a few days straight now. It's helping me keep my sugar levels in check.

    Are you on insulin?

My diabetes is in remission from significant weight loss but I still eat like one.

My tip for a long time diabetic is to include a little protein and fat in every meal, every snack. Fats seem to be best for evening everything out as they are digested so slowly.

Edamame has a near perfectly balanced nutrition profile. Lupini beans too.

This has worked well for me too.
