I just wanted to share this salad dressing I found at the grocery store today. It's no calories and no carbs! It was not lacking any flavor at all either! zh5nw4gqw640.jpg

    Unicorn tears.

(I stay far, far, away from Walden Farms products after trying something of theirs that was completely inedible around '03-'04 when I did my very first diet and it was Atkins. They were kinda a big deal when they hit the low carb community back then and it was a huge splurge for me to buy whatever it was I bought. Ketchup? Barbecue sauce? Dressing? Fruit sauce? Maple syrup? I forget. Regardless, I ended up having to toss it in the garbage it was just that nasty. Never again.)

Beware Walden Farms....there are a few things with decent reviews but the bulk of their products (I think) get bad reviews.

Not really no calorie (obviously)....< 5 cals per serving rule

Ingredients: Triple filtered purified water, white vinegar, tomato paste, vegetable fiber, natural spices, natural flavors, salt, garlic, onion powder, pickle relish, lemon juice, white pepper, xanthan gum, food color, sucralose, FD&C red #40, yellow #5, #6, sodium benzoate (to preserve freshness).

I like Bolthouse Farms dressings myself.

That ingredients list makes me cringe! I totally agree about Bolthouse. That's a better lo-cal option.

Most Walden Farm products can take a hike, but there are some that I will buy - I've added their caramel and/or chocolate syrup to almond milk then heated up in the microwave to make a nice low cal sweet drink. I also use their super fruit balsamic vinaigrette dressing regularly. The Italian dressing is too strong for me as a salad topper but makes for a great marinade.

I've tried the honey Dijon and Ranch dressings, too. They were okay, but for these flavors I have found better low cal options on the market (skinny girl for honey Dijon, FF hidden valley for Ranch).

Everything else (peanut butter, fruit spreads, coffee creamers, marshmallow fluff, etc) has been nowhere near palatable for me.

I am not one to fear the chemicals and such - but zero calorie creamy dressings, peanut butter and whatever is a big ol' heck no for me. Not going near that crap.

Agree since I have trouble with aftertaste of artificial sweeteners. I'd rather just have lemon juice and a bit of olive oil in my salad. And, vitamin K in a salad needs a bit of fat to be absorbed.

I've had that one. I can do it once in awhile, or at least I could use it at one point. It makes me a little sick to think of using it now so I just stick to hot sauce for low cal dressing. I'm definitely not anti-Walden Farms but the pancake syrup and caramel sauce are much better than the salad dressings.

Yeah, it's not actually calorie free. Labelling rules mean that is a 'serving' is less than 5 calories, they can round it down to zero on the label. Small serving size = under 5 cals = "CALORIE FREE!!!*"

    *But not really.
