Getting out of this funk

Well I'm not used to openly talking about my weight, but I think it's time I start. I am 24 and I am the heaviest and unhealthiest I've ever been in my life. I'm 5'4 and 223lbs. I have struggled with my weight for literally as long as I can remember. I consistently eat when I'm bored or sad or feeling bad about myself. It's become a vicious unhealthy cycle that I desperately need to break. Heart disease, knee issues, diabetes; etc all run in my family and I'm heading that way if I don't get myself to a healthy weight and life style. I recently moved in with my boyfriend, he is very fit and athletic and can more or less eat what he wants so it makes it much more difficult. I do not have great self control and it's something I need to put a constant effort into in order to lose weight. At one point around when I was 20 I was pretty comfortable with my body, I had gained weight when I went away to college at 18 and came home after freshman year and lost 50 pounds. I felt great. I recently looked at pictures of myself from that time period and remembered how good I felt and the. Instantly felt horrible about how I looked. I don't feel pretty, I don't feel confident, I don't feel comfortable and it's just keeping me from enjoying life anymore.
Today I pledge to myself to put in consistent effort into getting myself healthy.
I am pretty well education on health and nutrition, it's just putting my knowledge into action.
If anyone would like to talk or be "accountability partners" I could always use and give the motivation. My goal is to lose to lose at least 50 pounds by my 25th birthday in February.
Wish me luck

Everybody other than me has a smart phone so take pictures of yourself today and note that the you in that picture got a man. You can't be as horrible in his eyes as you are in yours, so work on your empathy and try to see that from his POV you're pretty darned, well, pretty. Don't wrap all your hopes around '50 by February'. Instead, start using the food diary to accurately and honestly log all your food. Don't cut corners and don't take shortcuts. I got bitten by doing that myself today. I'd been having 2 or 3 medjool dates each week and lazily logged it as whatever the nutrition facts label said, which was '24 g'. Today, I weighed one and found it was 6 g. I discovered today that I'd logged a couple hundred phantom calories eaten in the recent past. I'm just glad I didn't weigh a date and find it to be 30 g, as that would mean I'd failed to log my food at all. Although, I still refuse to weigh eggs and bacon. They're just too messy to weigh. Anyway, you do your logging and be patient, persistent, accurate, and honest. You'll need a kitchen scale to be accurate. The actual weight loss happens in your head as you decide what you can change about the rest of your life that is going to move you in the direction of healthy you.0

Vlfranks, you rock! When I'm at my lowest, I usually find some way to pull myself out of my funk ... once I'm mad enough or fed up enough.0

This is fantastic! Way to go! If you're looking for friends, I hope you will add me. This journey we're on is not easy, but with enough support I believe we are all capable of achieving our goals! You can do it, and 50 lbs by February is an awesome and totally obtainable goal. Good luck!1
