Since I've heard mfp can be way off, what is the best device to use to monitor exercise burn? I'm thinking of buying a Fitbit is this better than the mfp number? Thank you!!

It depends on what you do for exercise. A Fitbit (or any activity tracker) is meant to be worn 24 hours a day to track your overall movement.0

My fitbit overestimates my burns by about 300cals. For me mfp is more accurate.1

Pick a device and use it consistently for a month. After a month, mathematically evaluate the accuracy of your methods by calculating how much weight you should have lost, compared to how much weight you did lose. If the "should have" number is within 2% of the "actual" number, be confident that in all things you're doing it right. Otherwise, you're doing something wrong and you have to re-examine both your CI and your CO logging.0
