Fast Food Addiction?

Does anyone else have problems with constantly feeling the need to get fast food to fulfill a craving for it? I have breakfast food at my house...but I just had to have McDonald's breakfast. That's my biggest struggle right now (that and needing to exercise). It's a habit that I'm scared I'll never learn to break. I am staying within my calorie goals now at least.
Any thoughts?

So learn to eat reasonably and within your calorie goals by eating fast food (which it sounds like you're doing well at). As you go along you can work on making whatever changes you want. Take it a day and a step at a time. Rome wasn't built in day. You're doing fine. Cut yourself some slack

Hey! I'm a past fast-food consumer and I totally get it. It's really addictive for me! If I eat a McDonalds quarter pounder with cheese and fries [my go-to], all I want is to eat more and more. For me I think it's something about the bread and how sweet it is.

I'm not sure what will work for you, but what I did was wean myself off both fast food and refined sugar. I was involved in a challenge at the gym and had to address my eating!!! Try it for a few days, see how you feel. It wasn't a straight path...I ate a lot of nuts for a while, which is its own little problem. Then I started cutting up a *lot* of vegetables at the beginning of the week. I take them with me everywhere and when I feel like I "need" fast food, I just start crunching on veggies (carrots, cucumbers, celery, cauliflower, red peppers, sweet snap peas) and the craving goes away.

    Hope you find this helpful!

I had to decide that my health needed food better than I was choosing, whether from drive-through restaurants or convenience stores. I've been there and done that but breaking that bad habit was the first step of my weight loss adventure, and one that I took in Y2K.

You can eat the egg white delight at McDonald's for breakfast. You can be within your calorie goals even eating fast food.

    This^

All things in moderation. Sure, you could eliminate all fast food to lose weight but losing weight is just step 1.

Keeping the weight off is (often) a harder step 2. Learn calorie counts for your favorite fast food items. Try making some of them at home - I eat egg "McMuffins" all the time. I use a whole egg and an egg white (more protein) I don't fry it in loads of butter (I bake it) I use a high fiber English muffin and 2% cheese. You can make parts of this ahead and freeze for later. You can also order off the menu and maybe tweak your choices a bit, but those are good tools for losing weight AND maintaining.

This is fantastic advice here OP! I know the calorie count of most of the things I like at fast food restaurants and can adjust on the fly.

I also make some of the things I like outside at home sometimes.
