Looking for help with lifting and general muscle definition.
I can get to the gym around 3-4 times a week and have an hour or so of time while im there
I do prefer machine weights as i have no idea what im doing with free weights ha ha
Can anyone help me with where to start?
168cm, 66kg female looking to tone.
I have no idea how many reps/sets or weight to start off with.
I think of myself as a 'runner' newbie at that but can comfortably run 5k without stopping. Completed the c25k and kept up from there.
Generally i go to the gym and bust out my cardio. (Training for 10k) and sometimes dabble in the weights but i need some guidance to make my effort worth my while
Any help is greatly appreciated
I ahould add that i will be looking into seeing a personal trainer in the next month or so to get a guide on what i need to be doing to get to where I want to be also:-)

You can give: http://www.furman.edu/sites/first/Documents/16_oct2324.pdf a look and try.
I use StrongLifts 5x5 and like the results. Do a search on weight lifting routines, try one and if you like it continue. If you don't try another. Or, of course, follow the routine your new personal trainer will provide.0 -
YouTube is great for beginners. Just type in "quick home weight routine", "arm weight exercises", or whatever you want.
Be sure to watch a few of the videos from male instructors before you click on a female-instructed video.
That way you won't get suckered into watching the two worst kinds of fitness videos- starving cardio bunnies who have no idea what they're doing with weights and soft core porn pretending to be exercise videos0
