    Why take a water pill if it will right itself by drinking more water and getting back on track?

    Over the counter water pills are not regulated by the FDA. There's no way of knowing if the ingredients listed on the box are really what's in the pills or how much of each ingredient they contain. They could even interact badly with any meds you may be taking. Many manufacturers of herbal water pills claim that their products have health benefits, but those promises typically aren't studied in research trials There are also side effects of water pills such as dehydration, lower potassium levels, low sodium levels, headaches, dizziness, thirst, increased blood sugar, and muscle cramps.
