What is after happening
Weighed myself Sunday and I was four pounds down
Had a few alcoholic beverages last night and weighed myself and the scales are saying the four pounds are back on
Please tell me this cant be true

4 pounds gain from one night of enjoying myself

    yep... alcohol has loads of calories and makes you retain water....

    not sure why this is in MFP suggestions/feedback forum though?

    To gain 4 pounds (body fat) in a day, it would be required to eat (4 pounds * 3500 kcal / pound) = 14 000 calories in one day.

    There can be temporary constipation,
    Water upkeep due higher salt intake, not drinked enough water..
    Muscles repairing from exercise (body holds onto water for a while),
    Eating more carbs than otherwise, more carbs = more water retention

    Weigh will be lowest in the morning (after going to the little room, before having breakfast or having something to eat).

    Ignore daily trends, take the average over a one to two week period.
