Well, I'm 67. But mostly I'm maintaining. My losing was complete 10yrs ago on Weight Watchers. So I don't really know the mechanics of MFP.

But I have lost 100lbs and kept off 10 yrs and I hang around the boards out of fear (after all this time) of going back.

Sorry, but to be blunt, if you aren't losing you're eating too much. Try as we might there's really no exact science to calculate your calories at the front end. Unless you prepare every single thing you eat, there's no exact science to track. There's always an element of trial and error. The scale being the trial.

Look at the scale as sort of a bio feedback machine. People lose their minds over the scale. It's just feedback. You don't say how long you've been at it, but if its been several weeks without a move, then you need to make a modest downward adjustment.

I say modest adjustment because when losing, I always took the easy road. Can you live with say a 150 cal per day cut? See if that gets a move in the right direction. Likely won't be a big move, but it's a test.

Last- how's you're tracking? Weighing your food? Researching NI when not at home? Tracking is both a science and an art. There's a significant learning curve. No, you aren't to old to lose.

Read this board and you'll find the great advantage to losing while older- the ability to tell other people to mind their own business. The younger folks seem to get so rattled by other people and the urge to explain themselves. Good luck.

I am 64. I am fairly new on MFP ...for about two months. I have lost about 7ibs. I am losing weight and it's painfully slow but I am happy that first time in 20 years I am able to lose some weight. So counting calories does work. Good luck.
