Im wondering if anyone has had a similar experience or just in general has some advice for me! Here is some back story... about 4 years ago I started losing weight. I lost about 30-35 lbs (started at 150, got to 115-120). I did this in a very unhealthy manor and was eating around 900-1200 calories a day. I really didnt know what I was doing and knew nothing about nutrition. I dipped into the 108-110 lb range, but after realizing I looked sickly, got back up to 120ish. Here is my problem.. after this holiday season I have gained some weight. I am not around 127 and have been trying to lose the weight for a few months now. The only way I "know" how to lose weight is dropping my calories to 1200, so Ive done that again. I weigh out my food and exercise at least 4x a week. I dont count macros, but I know its mainly about cals in verse out for weight loss goals. I really just want to get back to 120 (im 5'4) that is where I feel most comfortable and fit into my clothes.

Here is another addition to my "story". In December I went to a natural doctor who told me I could possibly have PCOS. This freaked me out, and I followed her guidelines and started taking some sort of vitamin or supplement that she said would balance my hormones. I feel as though this medicine did nothing/ maybe made me keep some of the weight on. My question is has anyone ever experienced a situation like mine? I cant get the weight off, and I am curious is anyone has actually gotten a diagnosis of PCOS and has gotten a medicine that would help them weight wise. **I know I am not overweight by any means, but I just dont fit into my clothes like I used to and I want to get comfortable again.

If this made any sense at all, I would appreciate any help or advice from anyone?
**PS. I know eating this little isnt good, but its the only way ive ever known to lose weight.

This "natural doctor" told you that you had PCOS to sell you some pills and make money off you. Nothing else. Did you meet her/him in a gym? Report people that try to sell at gyms!

first of all if you think you have PCOS see a real dr who can run real tests. if your hormones are out of whack again a real dr who will run real tests.you also have a weight range not just one number. for PCOS they will usually give you a hormonal birth control(not always though) and wont give you a weight loss pill unless you have other issues. if you are weighing everything on a food scale in grams and logging properly you should be losing. if you arent losing after several months then see a dr (not a naturopath or anything like that) and get blood work done.even with a health issue you should still be able to lose weight the difference is the calories in will be off by a bit. if you arent losing at 1200 calories something is off/wrong.

Have you found the PCOS group here yet? If not, you might want to check it out: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/3070-p-c-o-sis. It looks like they have a lot of good information collected there.

I was diagnosed with PCOS 20 years ago. Did this doctor do blood work to diagnose you? I've never heard of vitamins as a way to treat PCOS but I don't know everything. lol Please see a gynecologist who knows PCOS to get a proper diagnosis. PCOS effects your metabolism, causes facial hair growth, acne and hormonal imbalance. My treatment was medication to stop my periods till I was ready to have children. When I was I took Glucophage (metformin) to help get pregnant. After I didn't want to stay on medication so I just went 4 times a year to the doctor to make sure i kept everything in check. Also my doctor said that i should eat low carbs and try to stick with healthy carbs. She said most people can eat a donut and be fine but with me I gain weight.

Here is some information from a nutritional non-profit on PCOS:

    https://www.westonaprice.org/health-topics/ask-the-doctor/polycystic-ovarian-syndrome-pcos/

Were these the herbs you were given?

Here some websites on how to cope with PCOS:

(Dr. John Lee's Daughter, Lita Lee) http://www.litalee.com/shopexd.asp?id=215&bc=no
(How paleo or low sugar/carb and high protein / fat can help) https://www.paleohacks.com/weight-loss/hack-my-non-weight-loss-i-have-celiac-pcos-and-possible-thyroid-problems-and-possible-ms-13239

I am post menopause / hypothyroid and "paleo" did help me a lot. I am also trying to now hover around 100 g carbs a day now that I have lost the weight I wanted to with paleo / ketogenic foods.

Anyway - stay in touch I would be curious what you found out and what you decided to do.
