How do I log this?

I spent a few hours yesterday working on assembling a new backyard tent we just bought. Large metal frame, lots of pieces. Does anyone have any idea how I would go about logging this sort of activity? It was way more activity than I usually do even with exercise, I'd like to put something down in my activity for it. Thanks.

There's an option for "home workout" I would probably pick that. But I wouldnt eat all of the calories back.

Possible to get a tracker when desired like the one from under armour, or fitbit.. connect with your mfp account. All steps, activities tracked with the tracker are sync'ed (when sync'ing) and extra calories burned from exercises.. are reflected in the total calorie allowance. So more can be eaten when more active. <3

I'm always hesitant about those trackers, I've heard a lot of issues with fitbit specifically lately and just not sure I want to invest in one anyway. Plus while yesterday was a lot of walking, there was an equal amount of lifting happening too which I don't think would get recognized by a tracker.

@sijomial hah nice one  I think I will try gardening, or home as lauren suggested. Thanks everyone

Yard work @ 40 Calories per 10 minutes vs. gardening at 60 calories per 10 minutes? You'd probably lose your steps calories achieved during that time frame.

if you want to get super specific you can find something that seems equivalent from this chart

    https://epi.grants.cancer.gov/atus-met/met.php

    then use the following calculation:

if you're set to sedentary on mfp take the number given from the chart and subtract 1.25, then multiply that result by your BMR, divide by 24 (number of hours in a day) then multiply by the number of hours you spent doing the activity.

I'd take it as bonus burn for the day.
