What is more important for you? One week off from dieting won't make much of a difference.

@Sana1khanmfp the 5 pounds will be mostly water loss due to being low carb for a week. If you go back to your old way of eating it will come right back but that is not a long term concern as Tiny_Dancer stated.

Because tapering off of carbs was not working out for me I went off of all added sugar and any food containing any type of grain Oct 2014. The first two weeks were hellish but I was 63 and my total health was failing quickly. While it started managing my pain within the first 30 days and the cravings started to fade fast after just two weeks I would NOT wanted to have been in a testing period.

Consider accepting the weight gain yet not go to eating 300 grams of carbs daily of sugar laced foods. You are young and have time on your side. Just pick back up after the tests are over. Once you move to living more on ketones than glucose it may help your ability to study and do better on the next round of testing.

Three years into this way of eating I plan to eat Keto for the rest of my life because what it is doing for my physical and mental health.

Best of success and welcome to MFP.

If you've got to have something someone shared a mug recipe that is super easy and keto approved. It still has some carbs but definitely better than caving and binging on junk. Also, exams are more important than a week of dieting so don't stress it too much.

    Keto mug cake
    1 egg, beaten
    2 Tbs of cocoa powder
2 Tbs stevia/xylitol/swerve (just some sugar substitute)
1 Tbs heavy cream or nut milk
    1/4 tsp. Baking powder

Beat egg, mix all ingredients together. Spray or butter coffee mug. Add mixture and microwave for 90 seconds. If cake seems to still be too wet, microwave in 15 second increments until done.

I love adding 1 Tbs of peanut butter if I've got the carbs then dumping it out into a bowl and letting it cook in the freezer and adding whip cream.
