I think the iron in vitamins can play havoc on your system.

Its the iron. however if you get constipated take a stool softner. With my second pregnancy the prenatal vitamins caused horrible constipation. I couldnt get out of bed I was so cramped. I was told to take stool softners and then was prescribed a prenatal with stool softner in it and I never had a problem after that.

I used to take OneSource for Active Women and it worked just the opposite!

I didn't get constipated but a couple years ago I tried taking One A Day women's multivitamin and I kept getting an upset/crampy stomach, whether I took them with food or not. Needless to say I stopped taking them. Now I've been taking the Premium Performance multivitamins from Costco and haven't had any side effects.

Take a multi that only has 1/2 the daily amount of iron. I use Raw One for women by Vitamin Code and it only contains 1/3 the amount RDA and I have never had a problem with them. I just make sure to get the rest of my iron from other sources.
