Bottom line I am not familiar with Cup as a measure. (Not really used in UK. )
Just had sugarsnap peas and calories info is 0.5 cups. My instinct is to weigh them. If I'm honest struggling with a capacity measure for non-liquids or powders as I will get different amounts depending on whether they are longer or shorter.
I can see there isn't a direct conversion cups to Gramms or ounces as it will depend on the density of the food. I have two measuring jugs - neither has cups.
I have recipes which say x ounces of an item - but calorie info in MFP is often in cups.
Advice please !!

If it's a solid food, you ought to weigh it - generally you can find an entry in MFP for the item in grams rather than cups, but you might have to click a few.

Ignore the cup entries and search for entries measured in grams or ounces. I'm not going to get into the Great Cup Debate, or any pros and cons of cups at all, because it's irrelevant. You're British, you're using to weighing for recipes, and there's no way you have a set of American cup measures on hand. :D (British cup measures, when we do use them, are slightly different.)

Some of the entries, if you click on them, will have alternate forms of measurement in the drop-down menu, but not all. I find that vegetable and fruit entries marked USDA are generally in grams, so include that in your search, or you can just try putting in supermarket names. For example,"Asda Strawberries" or "Tesco Strawberries" and again, this will get you entries in grams, because that's how food is generally sold here.

There are quite a few sugarsnaps that show grams. But in general, what @Alatariel75 said

I think your idea to search for 'Tesco Strawberries ' will sort most of my difficulty.
Certainly don't want a debate about pros and cons of any method. If I'm honest , being any oldie , I weigh in ounces. Thanks for taking time to reply.
