Exercising with injury/brace?

I'm almost have way through my weight loss journey and am trying to build more muscle. I've lost 30lbs so far and specifically want a more toned chest, shoulders, and arms. The problem is I have this pesky cyst that wants to form in my wrist. My Dr had me wear a brace to hopefully alleviate it naturally. Well it went away and then came back. Can/should I strength train with the brace? Are there arm exercises that are easier on the wrist that I should be doing instead?
I have another appointment next week to check in with the Dr so any advice in the meantime would be greatly appreciated.

Swimming, running, walking. I'd stay off the wrist until it really heals. You have to think long term with fitness.0

I'd wait until you ask your doctor first.0
