Injury Question

I was hoping someone has had this in the past and can help me. For months my thighs get tight/burn at times (since Janaury).

Sometimes it happens when I am on the elliptical (not so much since I started going on barefoot-which helps). They are ok most of the time, but an example is if I am walking upstairs they start to burn and feel fatigued until I am done and they feel better within a few seconds (I am not out of shape enough to be tired walking upstairs, lol) .

Doctor thought it was the back so did two epidurals and nothing. Another doctor thought maybe it was coming from the hip. Got an injection and nothing.

Can anyone guide me to what this might be and how to take care of it or can think of other options to explore in order to help this.

physical therapy maybe for stretching the muscles - could be an injury/strain in your psoas (or similar); tight hamstrings etc

They are tight and need to be released. I suggest you look into foam rolling and massage.

Tightness is one possibility. Stretching can help with that.

What kind of work do you do, or have you done in the past year?

I'd try some stretching or rolling. You can use a rolling pin even my physio guy told me

Downward dog followed by the pigeon for 10 minutes, 3 times a day works for me.

In for the suggestions. I'm the same way. I have SI joint dysfunction so I know that probably impacts this. I would really like to be able to run stairs

i've been getting craziness in my left leg, basically ever since i went to work on straightening out my left foot and all the connected things that trickle upstream from that.

the big thing that helped with the most recent stuff was to pick along ALL the borders of my iliotibial band (on both front and back sides) and try to untangle every single small adhesion and trigger point that i felt on the way.

need to stress: just foam rolling back and forth mostly just pissed it off even more. the turning point was when i actually did the things that are sometimes called 'pin and stretch' and sometimes called 'active tissue release' or 'fascia whatever'. they're awkward to do with your own foam roller because you need to be able to pin down a section of tissue at a bit of an odd angle on your own leg, and then move your foot around through the various planes of motion to activate or release the unpinned part of the muscle you're on.

but for whatever was bothering me it did make a really serious difference, so you could try that.
