Running books

Has anyone read this book? I've been thinking about buying it.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/014312319X/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1500603335&sr=8-1&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=running+book&dpPl=1&dpID=51rKMl8XvBL&ref=plSrch
I'm currently training for a 10K, and I'm trying to improve my running form. Currently I put too much pressure on my heels, and I'm afraid that this style will end up hurting my back (actually I'm slowly recovering from a back injury). If anyone can recommend any other book or material I will appreciate it.

@ABabilonia I can't comment on that book but here is a link to a list of books recommended by other runners.

I think i would consult a running coach if i wanted help with my form, not a book.1

Thanks. I'll check the thread0 -
I'd also recommend the book Running fast and injury free by Gordon Pirie. From all accounts it was never accepted for publication so he released it for free.1

No, no, no, no, no, and NO!
Try this one instead of the woo. There's no one right way to run. Telling someone to run with certain shoes (or barefoot) and telling them how to land is a recipe for injury.0 -
Check out this podcast about form (interview with the author of the book I linked).

Much like a golf swing, there are more accepted/ideal ways to run... but ultimately, there's 100 ways to hit the ball well. It's probably more costly to work with a running coach, but it'll probably be WAY more helpful. If you're serious about this, I'd suggest going that route rather than trying to self coach based on what you think you are or aren't doing "correctly".1

I have that book. Unfortunately I didn't get very far into the program before it got too hot to run. His big thing is not heel striking, which I don't do in the first place. I do like how the author has you do journaling and engage in self awareness exercises. I can't say much more since I only got about a week in.0
