I'm dieting well and losing weight, it's past midnight and my Wife was craving Kraft Dinner. I had a small bowl of it, and after logging it I'm still under my calories. How much of my diet did I ruin? How to recover from it? Best way not to feel/see the bloat from it in the morning?

Don't be afraid of food. You had a small bowl mac and cheese. It will hardly make a dent in the scheme of things
BTW, I love kraft mac and cheese.7 -
Why would you ruin your diet by being under your calories? (and why are you under your calories? It's a recommended amount to eat, not to be under...)19
-
So as long as I'm under my calories for the day, regardless of what I eat or what time I eat it, I won't gain any weight right? For example I ate super clean and well today, drank 3.5litres of water and was way below my calorie count. Then midnight came and I ate mac and cheese as well as some white rice and meat lol I got so hungry. But after logging it, I'm still under my calories for the day. I'm so worried about what I'll feel or look like In a couple of days. Should I do cardio in the morning? Drink more water?3

Whatever for? When it comes to weight loss, all that matters is being in a calorie deficit.5
-
You should eat at least your calorie goal, more if you've done exercise. Why be hungry when you still have calories left? The point isn't to be as miserable and deprived as possible when you lose weight.8

I'm just paranoid that's all lol4
-
You are still under. Now I got to ask , how many calories did you have today?3

Don't be. Not about this. As others have said, you should be eating your full calorie budget. As long as you're in a deficit, the weight is going to come off. But if you weren't eating way under your calories, odds are you wouldn't have been super-hungry at midnight in the first place.
Not sure what "super-clean" means. Clean eating has so many interpretations, it's pretty much meaningless. But eating a few treats/foods that are higher-calorie with fewer nutrients won't hurt anything so long as you are eating below maintenance. High sodium foods might make you retain water for a few days, but that's about it.4 -

I'm at about 1500 right now, but I'm not even sure the food I ate was more than it says on mfp

Thanks everyone, sorry for sounding like a noob6

We've all been there.0

Don't be "way under" your calories. That means you're not eating enough and will leave you hungry and cause you to, oh, I don't know - stuff your face with instant mac and cheese in the middle of the night?
Feed yourself. Food is good.4 -

Perhaps look back at your previous threads - you've been asking similar questions and having similar concerns for past 2 years. You've received the same responses and advice...9 -

Um ... you were still under your calories? In what way was your diet ruined??

You don't lose weight by eating clean.
You lose weight by staying under your calories.4 -

Use a digital scale for all your intake. This way you will be sure.2 -
It does take a while to accept that indulgence and weight loss can go hand in hand, and that you don't have to feel deprived to lose weight. I'm still trying to get my head around it myself but so far it's working and I can't argue with that!1

Not sure what you mean by "super clean", but takeaway and Kraft dinner is seldom considered even slightly clean.2 -

Unless you ate 5250 calories over maintenance, yes it's water weight3 -

Yes.
Weight loss isn't about one weigh-in. It's about all of them. Weight loss isn't linear, there are lots of ups and downs along the way, but the general trend should be downward. Trust the process.0 -
I feel you're under your calories, stop freaking out. Weight loss/maintenance/gaining is ALL about calories and not about the food you eat/don't eat.
I'm sure you've been informed of this in the threads you've previously started...2 -
Water weight. That junk is loaded with sodium. (I'm not bashing your food choice -- I just wouldn't go to Kraft as my first choice for mac & cheese.)0

I at half a pint of ice cream last night, but then I killed it at the 5:30am workout. not worried at all. Had a clean recovery meal after the workout, drank 48 oz of water already today, plus had my supplements. I have been on several programs/diets over the last several years: 21 day change, 28 day change, 7 day detox, etc. Over time, my habits are changing, and I'm losing inches, not pounds, because I'm gaining muscle mass. I'm looking better in the mirror (that's my scale!) Once I got worried because i ate 3 donuts at work, so I told the trainer that afternoon, he chuckled and said "go run 3 miles you'll be ok." I think he was just humoring me. Just look at the big picture. Worrying about a small bowl of Kraft one time is to zoomed in.3

As far as the sodium bloat, drink some lemon water. Run it through.0

Did you eat 5,250 calories yesterday? Probably not. So yes, water weight.1 -

Your calorie target is your deficit...it isn't maintenance...even if you went over some, you're still in a deficit.

How far *under* your daily caloric allotment would you have been if you hadn't eaten the mac&cheese?0
