Dieting Nonsense...

Found this article. I don't agree with everything but the general sentiment is on point IMO.

https://www.spectator.co.uk/2017/06/this-dieting-nonsense-is-hard-to-swallow/

An example of what I don't agree with...

"If you want to be healthy as well as thin, you need a balanced diet — which means a lot of fresh veg and fruit, some carbs (preferably unrefined), not much protein and very little fat. And you have to stay off sweet and salty junk and cheap processed food. This is all common sense of course. If you spend your 2,000 calories on chips and ice cream, they’ll be gone by lunchtime and you’ll be hungry again. Just a single maxi milkshake can be 1,000 calories."

Ok so I agree that you need a balanced diet, but then the author goes on to define what that means. It's her definition that I slightly disagree with. Some carbs? Not a lot of protein? Very little fat?

But anyhow, the article gave me a chuckle so I thought I would share...

Great article, although some of his word choice might not be the best, like you said, the overall message could not be more true.
The nit pickers and semantics police will have a field day with this though! Lol

And don't forget, not a lot of carbs. So what the hell are you eating? LOL!
I'm guessing it has a Vegan bias. No issue with Vegans, but a bias none the less IMO...

Struggling with the equation of "some" + "not much" + "very little" = "a balanced diet"

Good article, but if you track what you are eating on here, then you should be able to eat a variety without thinking of it as "not much" or "very little" I am just starting to use the website to track calories/food. I hope I'm understanding how to use it properly.
