I am having problems balancing sodium, vitamin k, carbs and water intake. I am diabetic, on blood thinners and have congestive heart failure.

Gosh, that's a lot to contend with at once! Good luck to you.

I'm diabetic and have had good success so far - lowered my A1c from 11 to 4.9 and got off all meds but metformin. I've been eating a moderate carb diet and checking glucose often, exercising when my numbers are high to bring them down quickly. Are you able to exercise much? Are you on any meds?

I don't have any direct experience with your other issues, although my dad was on blood thinners and my mom has to reduce sodium / take diuretics for high blood pressure, so I have some experience with their diets.

As I understand it the main thing about the vitamin k is to be consistent from day to day, so your meds operate at the right level. You can eat more or fewer green veggies, but only if you do it consistently enough for your doctor to adjust your meds accordingly,

I am on an insulin pump. Right now my a1c is down to 7.6 when I started dieting and making better choices it was 11.9. I've got the diabetic part down but the fluid restrictions and sodium are my biggest problems right now. Exercise is difficult for me. I have nerve damage in my right leg from hip to foot and the problems with my left shoulder are keeping me from dressing myself. I try to walk when I can, but it's just so hot right now. We did buy a small pool recently and I do my leg exercises in there.

You can lose weight without exercise. You may also find that as the excess weight drops, that you have reduced symptoms relating to your health issues.

My strongest suggestions are to keep powering on and continue symptom tracking for your diabetes and CHF. If any new symptoms arise or something worsens, see your care provider in a timely matter.

    You've done great so far!
