This article is a must read and "must do", especially for women. You can fret over your butt, thighs, and stomach as much as you want, but in the end, it's about your health and your future.

Worrying about falls when you get older may seem trivial, but it's a real thing and has put many people in nursing homes or funeral homes.

Excellent write up covering all the major points, but in laymans terms.

    Cheers, h.

Excellent article and please everyone, take it to heart.

My beloved Nan died due to complications following a hip fracture suffered during a fall.

Resistance training doesn't have to be super heavy weights, resistance bands or body weight exercises are fine. Hit that protein and do some sort of strength training!

\o/ \o/ \o/ i scored an mri requisition off my gp just a few weeks ago, kind of along the same lines. don't mean to imply my gp is a jerk, but she is very definitely on the minimalist and responsible-resource-use side of triaging who needs and should get a chunk of the medical-services pie.

it happens that i'm not doing it because i'm pursuing the butt of an anal-sexbot, but i'm fairly sure that if i had just gone in there and said 'look, this is a problem because i still can't back squat' she might have taken a different path. gently steering her in the direction of 'i don't feel like this hip is stable and with the info i have atm i can't stabilize it on my own' got that form completed before all the words had got out of my mouth.

OTOH, glutes play an important role in walking, balance, and stability. So, it still is at least a little bit about your butt......;-)
