I'm thinking about trying one of these or a posture support bra to help train my back to be a little straiter. (Not for weight loss, technically) Anyone have experience with theae, do they actually help or do they make the musvles even weaker. Does the pressure upset your stomach? Can you move and do everyday normal activities with them on?

They weaken your core since you don't use it while wearing one4

I have a corset for dressing up. I never noticed it helped my posture. I'm still capable of slouching my shoulders. It is hard to bend over and it gets uncomfortable after about an hour. Yoga or Pilates would get you better and more long lasting results1

There are posture correcting devices/straps that make it very uncomfortable to slouch, encouraging you to us your own muscles to pull your shoulders back. A combination of that and vigorous physical therapy has improved the curvatures (c curve and s curve) of my spine from scoliosis.2

Instead of a corset, why not try strengthening the muscles that "control" the posture?2

I'm working on that too. In the meantime I was basically looking for an immediate feedback thing to help me catch myself when I start slouching, without looking obvious at work. I was also being super insomniac last night, so eventually surfing turned to costume corsets, to helpful ones, to posture stuff to "Lets see if anyone here has experience with that..."

I've worn a corset. Even with steel boning, you can still slouch/hunch. What helped me the most was taking dance lessons. Moving to the music just somehow makes me stand up straighter.2

I frequently wear posture bra's because they are the most comfortable on my shoulders and give me the best support. They do help a little without the issues associated with corsets/waist trainers, etc. My issue is a sway back, though. They may not hep with slouching.
The best thing you can do for your posture is strengthen your core muscles and practice standing without a slouch or a sway back.1 -
I am corset training for a few different reasons, partially because at some point I started always standing like a pregnant lady.
I don't wear it all the time, because I don't want my core to atrophy, but I do find that it helps me be much more aware of my tenancies to bear weight with my hips forward and standing with one hip forward.
