I have been on a weight loss journey for about a year and a half. I am very close to meeting my 100 lb goal. I used to weigh 298. Now I weigh 202. My body image is worse than it was though. My skin hangs off my body. I feel really confident with my clothes on, but I hate my body now.

It will take time for some of that skin to tighten and for you to feel more comfortable with how you look.

When you were losing weight did you do any form of strength training or weight lifting? When we lose weight through diet alone or diet and cardio we lose fat and lean mass. In the end the results aren't quite what we were hoping because we didn't lose only body fat. If you haven't looked into lifting it's a good idea to give that a try. You'll add some firmness to your body and you may see some of the areas that hang tighten up a bit when you add some muscle.

It's an emotional process. I remember looking at myself after losing my first 10 pounds and crying so hard because I thought I looked worse. It takes time for the body to adjust, and for the mind to adjust to the body. You are doing the right thing, if anything for your health :)

If you already hated your body, surprisingly losing weight isn't going to fix that relationship.Something else is going on that needs to be addressed in before that can be fixed. However remindeing yourself (constantly) how hard you've worked to achieve that goal, and how much better you look and feel than you did before, can help you adjust to your improved you.
