Hi All
I need some suggestions. I am about 30 lbs overweight but working on it here. I do play tennis 3 times a week (singles). One of my buddies recommended that I have an energy bar while playing to keep my energy up. I don't want to eat one that has too many calories but I understand that I need the protein to up my energy level. Any suggestions?
Joel

Bananas will do just as well. You see pro tennis players eat them all the time on court

Figure out how many calories you burn playing tennis. Decide how many of those calories you want to eat in an energy bar. Buy bar. Eat bar shortly before playing tennis.

Are you currently tired while playing? You shouldn't need to eat mid match if you are properly fueling yourself otherwise. Maybe have a banana or piece of fruit a little bit before playing.
Also, protein isn't going to give you quick energy, simple carbs (sugars) do that

    Bananas work great
And remember that you can eat back your workout calories if you like

Do you really need to eat during a workout to keep your energy up? I guess it depends on how long you play. I don't eat while working out, but do need electrolytes while at the gym. I can get those for 0-5 calories.
