I was on 1800, It about killed me. Now I go by TDEE, I'm on 2500 (about -23%) daily and feel much better, and the weight is still coming off. How tall are you, how much do you weigh? 1600 is really low for a male.

ETA: From your picture it doesn't look like you have much to lose, 1.5 a week might not be realistic, or overly healthy.

Google TDEE, that method takes into account your total daily energy expenditure (TDEE) and gives you your calories based on that, my bet is at 71" and 217 you're going to be around 2200 calories at TDEE- 20%. I'm 71" 234 and mine is 2500 give or take.

I hovered around 1640 for a little while, but I usually ended up eating closer to 1900 on most days, with the help of exercise calories. For someone like me who loves food, 1600 is very hard to stick to.

I'm 6'0 and I started at about 210. I'm on 1440 cals per day and it's not challenging to maintain (maybe because of high body fat %)

It's VERY dependent on individual person though. I know I have a slower metabolism than most and I'm also very sedentary at work so I don't need a lot of food to keep me going.

I'm adding you to friends :-)
