Using all your calories

When I was on Weight Watchers, everyone used to say "Use up all of your points or it will be harder to lose weight later!" I'm wondering if the same applies to your calories each day? I've noticed that many people fall under their calorie requirement, but I wondered if this would impact their weight loss later on?

This site calculates your calorie goal and includes a calorie deficit that is in line with your goals. So, you want to eat all the calories, not under. Under-eating causes all kinds of problems. Also in this site's calculation is the assumption that you will eat a bit more on days you exercise.
I'm not sure why you are concerned with other peoples' calories unless they have asked for advice, but the above is what I would say if they did ask for advice.1 -
I don't know scientifically but agree with post above. MFP takes everything into account. I can't speak for anyone else but as hard as I work out, I want every last calorie.0

It could be what's being referred to as "harder to lose weight later" is that, as your weight goes down, the amount of calories you can eat to achieve the same rate of loss goes down. If you start off with very low calories, you really don't leave yourself room to adjust downward past the 1200 minimum for women, so your rate of loss would slow, but it will likely at some point anyway. Or they could be under the mistaken idea that if you eat too few calories, your body will hang on to it's fat stores (commonly referred to as "starvation mode").
The rule around here is, he who eats the most calories & still loses wins! That being said, most people are not completely accurate in their logging (weighing their food & using accurate database entries), so coming in a little under is nothing to be concerned about.0 -
My calorie goal is a set number and I generally try to eat as close to it as realistically possible +/-30 calories. It works for me.0
