Thicker body type - what should my goal weight be?

I am 32 years old and I just started MFP a couple of days ago and I think it will be a great tool to track my calorie intake and exercise. My question is: What should my goal weight be? I definitely have some excess on my stomach and thighs, but I am also naturally a "thicker" or "solid" body type. I exercise a lot and have very muscular calves, for example. I am currently 5'2" and have been plateaued at about 133 pounds for the past three years. So, my BMI is in the healthy range (just barely), but I would like to lose a few pounds. Before that, I was significantly overweight and lost 30 pounds on Weight Watchers. In other words, my current weight is the lowest it has ever been as an adult, so it's hard for me to determine how much more weight I can reasonably lose. I talked to my mom about it the other day, and she said, "You inherited your grandmother's body type. You just have bigger thighs; there is nothing you can do about it." Clearly my mom is biased because she's my mom. My friends also tell me that I don't need to lose weight and I look fine, but they are biased too because they are my friends. My boyfriend, on the other hand, thinks I could stand to lose some weight. Haha yay for honest guys! :) Any unbiased opinions on what a reasonable goal weight for a short (5'2") gal with naturally larger hips, thighs, and booty? I want to set a goal that is challenging and yet attainable. Thanks!

I started off as 5'1 140lbs and also thought I had a thicker body type. I'm now down to 108lbs. I still carry my weight in my lower half. Even at my heaviest I worked out a lot but my diet wasn't the best.

No one can really tell you how much to lose, it's all your personal preference. I've changed my goal weight several times during this process. Friends, family, etc have all told me (even from the beginning at my heaviest) that I don't have to lose anymore. I personally want to and feel much better at this weight than I did before.

Why don't you shoot for 125 and then go from there? I'm 5'3 with a GW of 145 (the chart at my fitness center says I'll still be overweight at 145) but I haven't been lower than that in the past 7 years. What do those charts know, anyway?! Besides, if I want to keep the D boobs I can't lose too much!
