HIIT Treadmill

How many days a week should I do HIIT on a treadmil? Also whatever that number is, say 3 for example. If I work out 5 days a week can I still do steady state cardio the other 2 days? Or is that too much strain on the body or will I not be able to keep it up long term. Thanks !

If you're going all out, 2 a week is a good limit for most people. Maybe 3 if you're in your 20s. Yes, you can do less intense cardio (even with a few spirited moments) on other days. Possibly longer but light intensity the day after HIIT.1
