Is there a difference between resistance and strength training? Or are the words used interchangeablely?

Resistance training DOESN'T have to be progressive. IE: one could do 15lbs curls as their workout all the time just to keep the muscle active and in condition.
Strength training IS progressive to a point. To get stronger one has to progressively increase the resistance as they get accustomed to the load.

Kind of similar in use. Resistance training for me is more generalized while strength training for me tends to mean barbell training in the 3-6 rep range. This is more from my interest in strength sports and first lifting program I did focused on heavy compound lifts. For others they may be much more interchangeable.0

In academic/research areas, resistance training (or resistance exercise) is more widely used as it is understood to include ALL types of "resistance"--weights, bands, chains, body weight, etc, as well as different styles of training.0
