Do you have to eat all your 1200 calories?

1200 is rock bottom minimum for women. It's very difficult to get a fully nutritionally balanced diet on 1200. Yes, eat them all.

Yes, absolutely. 1200 cals is just not a lot of food.

Absolutely. When you set your goal to the absolute minimum then YES eat every last one of them.

You don't *have* to eat anything, but 1200 is generally speaking the healthy bottom limit for women - if you're consistently under the minimum your body needs to function all sorts of bad stuff can happen even if you're still overweight or obese (hair loss, organ failure, death by starvation, etc etc). I have the occasional day that dips under 1200, but I average quite a lot more over the week and those low days are usually after a high day. I have no idea what your deficit is, but most people (myself included) recommend keeping your deficit moderate - extreme low calorie diets might lose lots of weight fast, but they are unpleasant and very difficult to maintain over a long period of time.

Yes ! Then if you're working out on top of that , you're getting much less than 1200

Yes. 1,200 is generally considered to be the absolute minimum for women. For one day, being 86 under won't really matter. But over time, it's probably not going to be good for you.

It's all an estimate. Are you hungry? If so, then you should probably eat something. Are you 86 calories under every day? If so, you should probably eat more every day. A handful of nuts will do you easy.

I don't always eat my full 1200 calories. Sometimes I only eat 800-1000 especially if I've eaten high protein and very low carb that day. I'm not generally low carb but some days it works out that way. I've personally found it helpful to have occasional days that low and I only do it when I just don't feel like I need to anymore that day.

The best way to get a calorie deficit is to exercise. It's much harder to get that calorie deficit through diet because you will feel more hungry, tired, and you will be much more likely to stop if you are feeling like that. You will not get adequate nutrition on 1200 calories.

Eating very low cal days is only healthy if you are making up those calories on other days - ie eating 800 cals one day and 1600 cals the next day. Eating 800-1000 some days and only 1200 others is a recipe for disaster, and not healthy.

I try to hit between 1000 (not adjusted) and whatever my net goal is that day. If you get under 1000 the program yells at you and refuses to calculate your 5 week forecast. :D

Exactly. Weight loss is challenging enough. Getting to the end following extreme measures such as under eating risks quick regain as well as health complications (some listed above in another post, but there are many more).

OP, do it the healthy way. Transitioning to maintenance will be easier and you'll be happier and healthier.

It does that to avoid people becoming malnourished and/or developing eating disorders, not really funny

Yes, refusing to support malniurishment and eating disorders is hilarious :confounded:
