3 day fullbody or 3 day split?

Hey guys. Been doing a fullbody routine 3 days a week and I'm getting bored with it. I found a really fun upper/lower split but I can't bring myself to spend 4 days a week at the gym. Would doing a 3 day split be worse than doing a 3 day fullbody? The split has more exercises and includes everything the fullbody routine does, but you might only hit your upper body or lower body once that week depending on the week instead of every workout. My problem is I find myself adding isolation exercises to the fullbody routine to the point i should just switch to an upper/lower split anyway. Or should i stick to fullbody and add isolation exercises where wanted?

Why can't you bring yourself to do 4 days? I only hit body parts once per week at the moment. Maybe you just need to keep looking for a program that fits what you are wanting.

Is it the same full body workout 3x per week?

I train full body 3x per week but it's a different routine each time.

For instance on Monday I do dumbbell upright rows for my shoulders, then on Wednesday I do barbell OHP, on Friday, high incline dumbbell presses.

    Or

You could perform an upper / lower split like this UxLxUxx LxUxLxx, that will give you 3x upper and 3x lower over a two week period.

Or you could perform an upper on Monday, Lower on Wed and full body on Friday.

If you want to try a 3 day split you can't go far wrong with PPL

OP, you could do this or you could try a 4 day upper/lower split 3 days a week which gives you a nice 1 month training block.

You won't likely make any faster progress switching from your current program to one that hits each movement less times per week.
