Type 1 Diabetics Out There!?

Hey Everyone!
Been Type 1 for 20 years (diagnosed at age 3). I've always struggled with my weight and I'm looking to lose about 15 lbs and race in a tough mudder mid-october.
Are there any other Type 1's out there? What has worked for you? What hasn't? How do you avoid going to low in the middle of the night? I live alone and several times I've woken up to bloodsugars in the low 40's/high30's after hard work out days.
Thanks!

Hi Phoebe!
I too have type 1. I was diagnosed at 12 and am now 22 years old. I have always had a love for exercising and being outdoors. When I moved away from home I would also wake up in the middle of the night with severe low blood sugars. Eating a snack before bed that was high in protein and about 5-10 grams of carb would help out a lot. I would also never go to bed after exercising if my blood sugar was less than 110.
Hope this helps!
