Yes CICO is what makes you lose weight. It is NOT what makes you healthy.
Just because you are thin does not mean you are healthy.
OP, you need to talk to a nutritionist. Let them tell you what you need to eat. I guarantee fast foods and processed food will not be on that list.

No reason to stay away from processed foods.
If you are fighting hormone imbalance, you absolutely must eat nutritionally sound foods. Have you ever read any studies on hormone issues and processed foods? Have you ever suffered from it and then seen the benefit of eating whole? I seriously can't believe you just said "no reason to stay away from processed foods". What kind of advice is that when someone has a health issue?
Also I agree I should have been more specific, that sentence that you put in bold was erroneous; I was more zoned in on the hormone issues. Obviously you need a calorie deficit.

Nothing at all wrong with fast food. And frozen veggies for example are often times more nutritious thn the fresh ones. Giving useless umbrella advice to the OP to needlessly complicate things is just unnecessary.
Even if i werent to be so technical, I have PCOS and lost 105 pounds in 14 months and i ate all of these things. Plus chocolate. and desserts. and all of the pizza. Yummy.

Do you eat frozen fruit or vegetables? Canned anything? Condiments? Bread? Or do you grind your own wheat to make flour?

I didn't feel the need to define processed. I am talking about boxed meals, frozen entree meals, and anything that comes from a restaurant with a car window or a gas station. Not frozen veggies, people. Come on!
Except frozen veggies ARE processed.

Here on MFP a different definition of "processed" is used than what everyone I know offsite uses. But since technically frozen vegetables ARE processed, here on MFP I use "Ultra Processed" and link to the Brazilian definition, which breaks out "processed" into:
1. Natural/minimally processed
2. Processed
3. Ultra processed2 -

But you should. I love Krafts Mac n Cheese or frozen plain cheese pizza, add some vegetables with chicken and, boom, it is a satisfying meal. Pasta is "ultra processed" and add some fish with vegetables, boom, another wholesome meal. There is absolutely nothing wrong pizza, your stomach does not care. Pizza hits all the macros4 -
Fast food and even "ultra processed" food are fine in moderation. If you can't moderate because self-control is an issue, then abstinence might be the better route. But demonizing any particular kind of food is not helpful.
OP, I have PCOS with IR as well as hypothyroid. I find it easier to eat at a deficit when I keep my carbs lower, fats higher, and protein moderate. Not all, but many women find low carb to be helpful for losing weight. Some of your symptoms may improve at a lower weight, but again--not all. I had awful symptoms when I was thin (and I was very healthy at a lighter weight, since thin =/= healthy has been brought up). I have been advised by more than one doctor, specialist, and RD to try low carb, and when I was ready to, I did. I've never had one recommend Shakeology, "clean eating" above all else, or any other special diet/supplement.5 -

Yep, all frozen entree meals are horrible and should never be eaten.
Seriously though, if I had to eat by your definition I would be stuck being fat forever. It's just not sustainable for many people. Rather than placing guilt on foods by giving them a negative label I like to encourage people to find a balance between nutritionally dense foods and things they just enjoy eating. Even during competition prep I have candy and cheesecake because the overall balance of my diet contributes to health, plus tomorrow is never guaranteed so I'm going to enjoy the days I do get.8
