    Good news from doctor, diagnosis Runner's knee. Prescription: no running but I can do no impact training (elliptical, treadmil or bycicle) Saturday, I'll start slow with a 6or7 mile run and see how it feels and then slowly return to training. No more 6 day weeks, 4 days running 2 cross with low/No impact cardio.

    @cburke8909 Glad it's nothing serious, this did give me a chuckle...just a start with a 6 or 7 miler. I'm actually surprised treadmill is okay both my orthopedic and physical therapist say no no no treadmill that it is the worst. Feel better soon!

    @Elise4270 - I live in a city of ~200,000 and have been seeing deer on my early runs lately. They mostly just look at me like I'm nuts and go back to what they're doing.
    @skippygirlsmom - Oh to be young and indestructible! Skip is a beast!

    @Stoshew71 - glad to see you back and I hope things are better soon
    @kgirlhart - look at you tackling intervals in crazy heat. Awesomeness!
    @cburke8909 - glad to hear you should be on the mend.

    As for me, no running yet. Mostly just holding the couch down. I did manage a trip to the store with my husband, but it's mostly just step forward with the size 4-6 right leg and then drag the non bending size 14 left leg behind me and repeat. It's progress

    @skippygirlsmom treadmil walking . By the way great story about Skip. My son Kieran has that kind of spunk at seven, we'll see if it's as present when he's her age.

    Usually, stepping out onto the porch in the morning feels energizing; it's nice to get out of the A/C and feel the warmth. But this morning was like a convection oven; the faint breeze felt like a heat-shrink gun. Still sticking with 5K until I feel like I've mastered it. Just one good run short of my first month's goal, so feeling pretty good about it!

    Goal = 120 miles

    Storm system coming through with tornado watches and severe thunderstorms caused our HM/marathon training group to be cancelled tonight. I wasn't terribly disappointed not to do the planned hill repeats, but after sitting through all-day work meetings and eating pastries I could have used it. So I went to the Y and hopped on the treadmill for a little while. I will probably try to go to tomorrow night's group and catch the workout then as it is supposed to be almost 20 degrees cooler tomorrow.

    We're 71% through the month and I'm 74% of the way to goal, so looks like right on track but will have to keep on it. My leg felt significantly less tired and sore today too, so feeling better about things.

    Whoa! Just as I was finishing typing that sentence a huge tree branch came down in my back yard! Can't really see it all right now in the dark but it was just short of my patio and everything on it. I'm going to have to call for help tomorrow to get that cleaned up once I assess how much of the tree it is. I had just let Stella out a little while before that but fortunately she was sitting inside my screened in porch and not out in harm's way.

    So @mobycarp thinks he is so fast.. I am posting while doing 548 mph! PR’d every distance in minutes. :):lol:

    Nah, I'm only half-fast. When I'm healthy. Right now I'm 0% fast.
