    Hard to believe they wore the “bullet bra” but it was popular in the 40s and 50s.

    Red Bellied Woodpecker

    There are a lot of these around my house since I’m in the woods, I’ve always enjoyed seeing them and hearing their loud call, until.........

    I had a family of Swallows that had grown up in a nest under my eave and one sunny day, momma had them all hoping up my roof.
    Damn woodpecker flew down, grabbed the last baby in the line and flew off with it screaming.

    I was horrified!
    I stood there screaming..... made me cry.

    They do that??!!?? I'd've been horrified too. :( I love nature but don't let me witness any of the animal eating animal stuff. :(

    I have 5 different species of woodpeckers around the house. I especially like the Flickers with their dark brown "bibs".
