I was riding those bad boys back then. Funny related story - my sister was living in LA when "Welcome Back, Kotter' was on. In the opening sequence they had an 'el' (elevated subway) covered in graffiti and the people she was watching the show with thought that it was done just for the show! They wouldn't believe her that the trains really looked like that!1 -
