Hello , I have been following a 1200 meal plan, for the last week, and I am having trouble meeting this plan. I have under ate a few days this week. I am worried it will slow my metabolism down. I am 38 yrs old ,196 lbs ,and have about 50 lbs I would like to lose. I walked a few times this week which gave me extra calories to eat. I think its also because I have been following a intermittent fasting schedule too, I eat between 10:30 and 7 or 7:30. Should I be worried if im not completely making my calories. I believe part of this is also because I drink Apple cider vinegar,I have for over a month now and it has drastically reduced my appetite. Any idea if im ok or should I be concerned .Thank you.

ACV would kill my appetite also. Stop drinking it and start eating more.

You probably should be eating 1600 Cals a day, crash couses usually don't turn out too well

Yeah if there's no important reason to be at 1200 cal, up your intake. You're liable to lose a lot of muscle if you're too aggressive with your weight loss.

Definitely quit the ACV, work out your calorie allowance using the MFP goal calculator, try setting yourself to 1-1.5lb per week and take a read of this http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10569458/why-eating-too-little-calories-is-a-bad-idea/p1

I think at 1200 calories, I dont feel as if im "crash dieting" like I said,im having trouble even eating up to this amount. I bought dome KIND bars, and did a bit of shopping today to get some more snacks that can help me achieve this goal. Thank you.

Thank you Tinkerbellang83, it's actually MFP that gave me this calorie allotment. Im 196 ,5'5 (barely) and 50 lbs to lose at 1-1.5 sedentary, most days, so it gave me 1200. I will be joining gym soon and be changing my settings. But I think my best bet, is buying healthy snacks I can eat throughout the day to make up the calories.

are you weighing everything you eat???? if you are having that much trouble getting to 1200 calories, you may actually be eating a lot more than you think!!

If you arnt eating 1200 and you're 196. You are likely very tired and/or very hungry. If you are not, you are probably eating more than 1200.

    Just for reference. I'm 6"2 male 190 and I eat around 1800 Cal's a day and lose .5 to 1 lb a week

    THIS

This happened to me in a big way. I'm the same as you, set to 1200 calories. I was teaching at the time I started and just didn't get enough time to eat during the day so I was often below my calorie minimum by a lot. Everything became harder for me, even walking up the stairs to my apartment, carrying the groceries, everything! Now I just smash bananas and peanut butter to make up my deficits and I feel way better
