Has anyone experienced food (besides Cilantro - yuck) tasting like soap? I think maybe it could be my baking silmats? Are they meant to go in the dishwasher? Of course Google says anything from lack of zinc to too much fluoride.

One word - coriander. To me, it tastes like someone has squirted dishwashing liquid at the bottom of the bowl.

That's an easy one to test: try baking using parchment paper once and eat it before transferring into a container and see if that solves the problem.

Silicone tends to soak up smells, I think. I have a coffee mug with a silicone lid & if I wash it with the smelly soap at work, I can smell/taste it on the lid. Maybe switch to a less-fragranced soap or dishwasher soap?

I was going to ask about cilantro (I love it, but people who don't think it tastes like soap).

But you covered that in the OP, so never mind!
