How does your monthly cycle affect you and your weight loss journey?

It doesn't affect me (or it) at all.0

I retain all the water available on earth, weigh in at ungodly numbers higher than I should and live out of tubs of chocolate mousse.
So really, no impact....lol.7 -
In the long term it doesn't really have a major impact, in the short term I retain some water (up to 5lbs) and I might eat a day or two at maintenance to stop me eating everything in sight for the full week.1

Some months it doesn't affect me and other months like this month I am bloated, I have put on 2lb which I know isn't fat as I feel a little slimmer in places, I rarely ever crave chocolate but this month I am but I can't have as every chocolate bar I have come across has too much fat in it which sucks but I'm eating fruit instead1

Usually gain 3 or 4 pounds water weight and then lose it after. But I feel like I want to eat everything in sight the days leading up to it super pms cravings...2
-
I binge 2-3 days before because I can't help it
It doesn't seem to affect my weight lose too terribly. There were times where I either plateaued or gained weight, but it goes away very quickly afterwards and I start losing again.0 -
My appetite sky rockets, I get bloated, and I want to stab anyone who looks at me funny with a rusty spoon.2

I don't typically get a larger appetite during my menstrual cycle

2days after Iv taken my last pill in the strip I start gaining lbs, by the day I actually come on I can be up anything from 4 - 10lbs
by day 4 most of that has dropped off again and by day 6 its all gone.
I do eat more but try not to go too far over my calories and tend to use most of them on chocolate fudge brownie ice cream and ready salted crisps lol1 -
This is a great thread I was wondering the same thing and also how long before you start do you tend to start gaining the water fluid? Lol0

I get really bloated the week before (about 2.5lbs of water weight) but during I actually feel lighter. I also get really emotional and am easily offended. So no impact really, just don't talk to me for 5 days1

Of course the first comment is by a man minimizing a medical concern.
Ugh it throws me off completely, it affects my mood and my energy and I regain like 5-7 pounds of water weight, things don't move as much, etc.
On the bright side, it keeps me from going at too much of a deficit and if I adjust my activity level to my energy level I can take advantage of energy fluctuations. It also teaches me not to rely on the scale as a measure of how I'm doing.0 -

Oh there is a medical concern?
I'm legitimately ignorant to this.
Maybe it's because I'm a man.
I thought periods we're a normal natural thing for women. Educate me about about the medical concerns2 -
Doesn't effect my mood, hunger or weight at all! A little bit of cramping on the first day but that's it. I know a lot of people have it worse than me though.0

I gain 2 pounds of water weight during ovulation, and 4 pounds during TOM. I get hangry about 2 days before TOM, and usually eat at maintenance that day to off-set it. As for cramps, headaches, irritability, etc, they are different month to month, usually depending on how stressed I am at the time.1
-
I crave salty foods like a maniac, but so far it hasn't affected the scale.0
-
Around AF time I bloat a bit, gain to 1.5-3 pounds in water weight, continue on as usual and lose the water weight and the fat I would normally lose once AF leaves. No extra cravings, nothing around ovulation time, just near AF. My cycle doesn't impact my weight loss because I take a long view rather than freak out about short term gains.0

I usually weight more during that week, which I don't worry about. I don't have too many issues avoiding my cravings. The biggest impact for me is that I don't work out or really do any activity during that week due to discomfort. I need to get over that and push through, but I'm just not there yet.0
