Weight loss struggle - Any suggestions?

Hello. I started my weight loss journey in April and at a starting weight of 15st 4lb. Up to date I have lost 1st 1lb which is great but I'm really struggling to understand why the loss is so slow. I have an under active thyroid for which I take medication for. I have been eating 1400 cals for the past 2 months and still might only lose 1/2lb in 3 weeks or maybe a 1lb at a push. I'm lightly active with the walking I do as part of my job but I don't do any additional exercise due to a reoccurring back injury at present.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, I'm starting to give up!
Thanks

are you weighing your food on scales?0

Re-evaluate your logging practices.
If you are not using a digital food scale, you will find this will really help you with accuracy, weigh everything- even packaged foods.
Double check the entries you have used. For packaged items compare the MFP entry against the information on the package- some entries are just wrong, others differ country to country.
For single items use the USDA data base, or write your entry search as 'chicken breast, boneless, skinless, raw, USDA'.
If you have 'cheat' meals- log them, no matter if you are over or have to guesstimate.
If you haven't reassessed your calorie goal since you lost the 1st 1 (15lbs) do so- you need slightly fewer calories now than you did when you started.

I'm also Hypothyroid. At the beginning of my journey I only lost an average of 1.4 pounds/week. I was on 1200 calories a day. It's frustrating and I know you want to see it come off faster. Your thyroid problem may be a small contributing factor but I have to agree with the rest of the answers here. You need to ensure you are weighing all your food. I often guestimated and now that I am only 8 pounds from goal I find I HAVE to weigh everything. Log every taste, bite or sip to find out why you aren't seeing a faster drop. I eat sugar free lifesavers. I might have 3 or 4 a day. That's 30 to 40 calories. I taste when I'm cooking. If it is something for hubby it might be high in fat. Those calories count too and it all adds up. When I started, I kept telling myself that my body could count perfectly no matter what I logged. Keep in mind that every body is different and the science is averaged so you may just be one of those people who lose a bit slower. You'll get there if you don't give up. I have been dieting my whole life. I'm gonna be 61 next month and this is the first time I have been as thin as I am since high school. I've lost 86 pounds (plus 18 pre MFP). There are tons of people on this app that have lost AND KEPT IT OFF! That's what keeps me going. Don't quit just tighten up your logging and keep working on it.1

It might just be hard with all your medical conditions to lose weight faster; but as long as its steady I think you should have no cause for concern. Talk to your doctor, but it sounds to me like you just need to give yourself credit for making progress despite what you're up against!0
