A 2000 calorie smoothie would be huge and I'm guessing you wouldn't even make it through 1/4 of it.

A large Peanut Butter Fudge shake at sonic is 2,000 calories.
A thick PB&J sandwich can easily be 1,000 calories.
A pint on Ben & Jerry's Peanut Butter Cup has 1,500 calories.

If his maintenance calories were 3,000+ then a 2,000 calorie smoothie is within the realm of being lean seeing as how a lean bulk simply means slightly over maintenance.

Have you considered GOMAD? Basically, you drink a gallon of milk every day. TBH the idea of it grosses me out, but... it'll get you there!

My post-workout shake is about 2000 calories, though it may not satisfy your individual macros:

BFD Naturals Pure Unflavored Whey Protein Isolate, 93 g (3 scoops)
Costco Egg Whites, 1 container (2 cups)
    1 medium banana
    Hershey's Cocoa - 100% Cacao Natural Unsweetened, 1 Tbsp.
Old Fashioned Oats (100% Natural Whole Grain Rolled Oats), 1 cup
Kirkland Organic Peanut Butter, 1/2 cup
    Chia Seed, 1 tbsp
Kirkland Signature - Saigon Ground Cinnamon, 1 tsp
    1 cup cold water

    Calories - 1,861
