Suggestions for someone just starting weight traning

I've lost about 40 lbs now & started a Paleo nutrition program. My coach suggested we do weight training three days a week. What exercises would you suggest & at what weight.

If you're paying a coach, they should be telling you what to do...that is what you're paying them for, right?3

Maybe its a nutrition coach. Do they also have fitness licenses? I'm sure she is asking for a good reason.0

Considering OP said "suggested" and "we" I suspect this is a group wellness type coach or weight-loss coach, not an athletic coach. Not even a salesperson-style coach like Beachbody since they would have told them exactly what program to buy. More for accountability and structure, like WW.0

You should probably find a fitness coach or, go online and find a beginners weight lifting program to help you out.
Other than that, all I say is start with lighter weights and perfect form first, then move up in weights.1 -
