Stopped logging, gained 4 lbs

I had lost nearly 15 lbs over the past year and when I stopped logging (and admittedly indulged in desserts a few times) over the past three months, i gained back 4 lbs. I thought for sure i would just maintain, but i gained!
I start a new job tomorrow and imagine i will not have much time to weigh and log again. So here's my plan: breakfast and lunch is always 350-400 calories each because i typically eat the same meals with only slight variations. I wont log those. I will only log dinners and snacks which will amount to 800-900 calories total. This will cut down on logging and weighing time.
Does it sound like a good plan?

Try it and see. Seems like a good plan to me.
I know a lot of people can do without logging. I am not one of those people.1 -
I've had the same problem every time I've stopped logging. My solution has been to get better at using the app.2

It's up to you since you know what works best for you but personally my job has never prevented me from weighing or logging my food at any point in time. That sounds like an excuse to be honest. Either you want to make use of the log or you don't. There's nothing stopping you from writing down your breakfast and lunch and logging them later on when you log your dinner and snacks. You gained four pounds without logging so it doesn't really seem like a good time to half-log.1

My thoughts too.
I don't know what time it is where you are, but you could also prelog and prep breakfast and lunch to get ready for tomorrow...
Logging and weighing will get you results - I doubt it was the few desserts that made you gain weight, more likely it comes down to your portion sizes creeping up when you stopped logging...2 -

I get up at 4:50am so I can eat breakfast then go to the gym before work. My job has me on my feet all day and most days are really busy. Part of my evening routine is packing food for the next day. I precut berries and veggies on the weekends so that I just have to weigh it out and pack it up for the next day. I've seen others on here prepackage food on the weekend to have it ready for the week. Maybe one of these strategies would help you have an easier time weighing and logging while adjusting to the new job?1

It doesn't hurt to try it out and see how it works for you. Instead of not logging breakfast and lunch at all, I'd say if you eat the same things typically, make them "meals" so you can one click them to add to your daily diary. You may not be super precise, but being in the ballpark may help you reign it in if you need to. If in a month it's not working, try another way1
