Hello,

I'm new to the message boards, and am looking to learn from and contribute to the fitness community. My weight and health has fluctuated quite a bit in the past decade, and I am now looking for some stability. I am interested in adopting a sustainable lifestyle that fits my personality. I'm interested in running, as well as some variations of fasting. I know I need to make some changes, and I'm ready to find what works for me.
Goals:
1. Go from 220 to 175
2. Be a vegan 3 days a week, and remain vegetarian the other 4
3. Drink less alcohol
4. Run a half marathon in 2018

Anyway, I am happy to be a part of this community, and hope I can add to the discussion.

Take care,
WF

It's possible, albeit very difficult to put in that much work without consuming meat. They would just need to make sure they're getting enough iron in their diet.

I've been a vegetarian for two years now. I recently went to my doctor to get a physical. He didn't have an issue with me trying to run a marathon while being vegan. I take iron and b-12 daily, as well as a regular multivitamin. I did some research, and there are plenty of vegan marathoners, as well as vegan bodybuilders, believe it or not.
Definitely something I just need to stay on top of to make sure I'm getting everything I need.
