Manual or electric treadmill?

My treadmill has bit the dust and I am in the market for a new one. My old treamill was electric and had handweights and programmable workouts and many nice features... I however couldnt use many of those features due to a knee injury that gets aggravated if I run or jar it much.
(One thing I did like about my old one is the shock absarbing feature. )
I was wondering if a smaller electric one or a simple manual one would be best. Has anyone had experience with both and do you have a preference.

Super hated manual treadmill, but it was one from the 70's with wooden rollers, so they might have changed since then. I prefer the electric ones. For all the reasons. Good luck!1
