Importing restaurant menu items

I'm really new to using this app. I am curious to learn how others deal with keeping track of items eaten at restaurants? Is there a streamlined way to do this, or is it a matter of searching online for the nutrition info for restaurant menu items and then individually typing those in?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Most chain restaurants have their nutrition information posted online. You should be able to find those items in MFP's database...if not, you can create an entry to add in.
If it's a local place, you just have to do your best estimate at what you ate. If you use an iOS device, you can request the nutrition information from MFP, but there isn't a guarantee the restaurant will give it to them.0 -
Sounds easy enough. Thanks for the info!0

Make sure you double check numbers though if accuracy is important to you...restaurants change formulas all the time and the entries added to the database here are done by other users. Also, Some people don't eat the bun when having a burger, for example, and may adjust numbers for that but not note it. And, restaurants in different parts of the world might have different recipes for the same item.0
